We all have been a fond of hair styles no matter what it is. Hairstyles impact our day-to-day life. It’s something no one can resist to have one. Of course, not everybody going to have the same hairstyles. Some of you like it curly, some of you like it groovy, straight and lists go on. But the matter of fact is everybody will have that one kind of hairstyle that makes them believe beautiful, flaunting, inspired and all. But because of a busy schedule, this can’t possible many times. If you're looking to extend the time between blow-outs and want to switch things up with a super sleek look, then SILK WRAP might be a great tip to try!

The purpose of silk wrapping was to give relaxed hair that ‘flat ironed and silky’ look without excessive heat abuse.  This treatment involves applying a bit of moisturizer and shine spray to the hair before wrapping it, securing with saran wrap and sitting under the hooded dryer for a spell. Somewhere down the line, though, someone got it in their mind to try this technique on heat styled, natural hair.  It works great for natural hair that has been roller set, blown out, pressed and/or flat iron. The silk wrap serves the same purpose, with the added benefit of reducing the volume of the hair for a ‘flatter’ look.

The Silk Wrap Healthy For Hair

A silk wrap is not damaging nor does it affect the health of your hair. You always maintain a healthy hair care regimen. Regular trims and deep conditioning treatments as needed.

Process Of Silk Wrap

Doing a silk wrap isn’t nearly as hard as we perceive it to be but hair stylists are better experienced with the different hair types and textures, and product requirements and would most likely know what’s best for yours. Here we have two techniques to follow the process for getting straight fluffy or bouncy hair:

Silk Wrap Hair Method #1

In order to start your silk wrapping process, try to wash your hair using a good quality straightening or smoothing shampoo and conditioner now Completely dry your hair. Then put your hair in large rollers, here you have 2 options i.e. you can use either hot rollers or standard rollers. But, if you are using standard rollers then make sure you direct the blow dryer’s heat at the rollers to set the curls properly. After this gently take out the rollers. Apply a good leave-in conditioner or a hair moisturizer. Next step is to cover your hair with a plastic wrap. Sit under a hair dryer for nearly 15 - 20 minutes. Last remove the plastic cover.

Silk Wrap Hair: Method #2

Wash your hair with a good quality shampoo and conditioner. Completely dry your hair. Apply a small amount of hair lotion or cream to your hair. Apply a dab of hair serum on your hair. Use a paddle brush or a wide-toothed comb. After detangling your hair, wrap them and then apply a small amount of setting lotion to set your hair well. Completely dry your hair with the help of a blow dryer. Repeat the same process again, (use a saran wrap to cover your hair). Again sit under a hair dryer for around 15-20 minutes. After that, remove the wrap, comb your hair. I hope above mentioned two techniques to beautifully silk wrap your hairs if you do have any question feel free to have in the comment section.

Hair Revert Back To It’s Natural Curl Pattern

A silk wrap will last 2 weeks. This is the normal return visit time frame. As soon as your hair is wet it will revert back to its natural curl pattern. A lot of women workout so they worry about their hair curling back up or reverting back because of sweating. While working out wrap your hair up just as you would when you are going to bed. Use a scarf or wrap cap to hold it down. Do not take off the cap or take down the wrap until your hair is completely dry. Also stay away from heavy oils and hair sprays.  Lastly, make sure you are wrapping your hair every night. All of these steps will ensure the lifespan of your silk wrap.
